How to create Lotus PIC? I want to add lotus Pic file in my document but I am unable to convert other image format (like jpg, gif, bmp etc) into it. So, if anyone know please help me. Is there any converter or something else?
Thanks in advance.

I have to ask this question… why do you need to create an image file in the PIC format? You mention adding an image to “my document”… do you mean a new Notes document or an external document (e.g. MS Word or OpenOffice Writer…)? All of these applications, including a Notes document, support standard formats like JPG and GIF. You will get better compression + others can use the image without concerns about transferring from PIC to JPG, GIF…

I need to see how C Api behaves for such format (Lotus Pic and CGM)… Again as Lotus notes support it there should be a way to create such format. NO?
Subject: RE: Lotus Pic
we can create CGM with the help of Lotus suite library but the saved file cannot be attached to lotus document, it says its illegal format .
About lotus pic I have no idea how to create it. Actually I couldn’t figure out what it exactly mean. Is that a real picture or just the name is lotus PIC.
Again as Lotus notes support it there should be a way to create such format. NO?

I’d suspect that CGM and Lotus PIC formats could be present in embedded rich text if the rich text has been created by some very old version of Lotus Notes.
Also when you say “saved file cannot be attached to lotus document” you probably mean imported into rich text field, as for attachments Notes cannot care less what do they contain.
So if your client gives you a task to make your code compatible with CMG and Lotus PIC, you should aske them for sample documents to test your code on. They might have very old such documents, but then again they are able to provide smaples for testing.

If anybody has such formats pictures. Please send me in prpradip@hotmail.com
Thanx in advance

what I meant is - you need to have pictures embedded in RT field.
You might be able to create/find old images, but i suspect the current Notes version will not support their import in rich text. So (if it’s like that) you need to get a db that contains notes documents with these legacy formats embedded in RT. Or get an old client soft that still allows to import them.

You’ll need to find a really old copy of 1-2-3 for DOS or Freelance Graphics for DOS.
