Lotus Notes Traveler with iPhone calendar Issue

Hi Some of our users having following calendar problem with Lotus Traveler using iPhone. using OS/4.0

  1. When I accept an invitation it acknowledges it on my calendar but does not send the acknowledgement to the invitor. Therefore they do not receive any confirmation that I have accepted the meeting. When I go into Notes I cannot accept the meeting there once I have accepted it on the iPhone.

  2. When a meeting is canceled the notice remains on the iPhone and cannot be cleared. If I click on the Cancellation notice the iPhone screen reverts back to the home screen vs the calendar to allow for deletion.

Any feedback much appreciated.

Subject: There’s a workaround for your first problem

We had the same issue.

The problem is that currently the acceptance mail is sent by the traveler server (and not synced and then sent by the homeserver as one would expect).

I was told that this behaviour should be changed in a later release.

What we could see was that the email left the PDA but never appeared at the traveler server (therefore never was sent to the invitee).

We had an PMR regarding this and they found out that there are circumstances were the traveler server doesn’t recognize himself (e.g. in a DMZ environment as we have it).

I was told a workaround to create a connection document on the traveler server were the server points to itself. So you put the notesname of the traveler server into source and destination and insert the correct ip.

Unfortunately this worked only until we restarted the server once again. We then added in addition the hierachical notesname with the ip into the local hosts file of the traveler server. Working fine since then

Subject: Thank you

This post is a life saver. Thank you!

The customer had exactly the same problem. Accepting calendar invitations from Traveler does not reach the sender. Lotus Traveler is on 8.5.2 both server and clients.

Solution was as you describe:

  1. Edit hosts-file adding the domino name and DMZ address (not the external IP)

  2. Create Connection document which points to the server itself (source and destination is the server itself, and optional network address is ip-address). Schedule and Replication is off, but Routing-mail was enabled.

Subject: Didn’t help for me :frowning:

Edited the hosts file, added the server name in common, abbreviated and hierarchical format (3 lines for the same IP)

Created the connection document.

Didn’t help… :frowning: Does anybody have the same problem?

Subject: try this

Add the ip address in the server document under Ports - Notes Network Ports. We have enabled an additional entry with a different Notes Network Name and the IP address. This worked for us
