Whenever I receive a vcard in my lotus notes Inbox at work it appears as a winmail.dat file. I have the preferences set to invoke lotus notes on vcard files but it never presents as.vcf file always as a winmail.dat. I know its not the senders problem because when he’s sent me vcards to my home Outlook client they work fine. All the literature I’ve seen is for importing and conversion but I want to process them one at a time as I receive time from business associates.

don’t assume the issue is not on the sender’s end. Have the send check the contact record that is used for your Lotus Notes account and see if it’s set to send in outlook rich text format. If so have that person remove this setting. Something microsoft added to mess things up.
