Why is that Lotus Notes always need to be indented at 2.54cm in order to have the form/document show up correctly on the screen?
i.e. if I set the indent to 0, the left side of the form goes off screen.
The same thing happens with Lotus Notes emails, if you create a new email and press out-dent you see a horizontal scroll bar (meaning there are more spaces on the left).
The page left margin is set to 0.
This is fine except in cases where if I press button (performs some routines + refreshes the document), then the document moves 2.54cm to the right (i.e. extra vertical whitespace - left margin).
How can I lock the form in place for visual consistency?
Cheers,
JJ

Subject: Lotus Notes ident/margin question
Notes behaves kind of tricky if the left margin of a form is less than 1". While documents are still displayed correctly with smaller margins, they normally cannot be composed or edited without first adjusting the scrollbar.
There seem to be two “solutions”: put either an editable field or a hotspot at the left margin of the first line to display. This may not always be possible (due to design restrictions) but if it’s possible, documents seem to display and print correctly.

Subject: RE: Lotus Notes ident/margin question
I found a way to do this invisibly and without the user putting the document into edit mode…
first I created a tiny .jpeg that matched the background of my form (white)
then I embedded onto the form at the top and aligned it to the margin setting that I wanted to be the left margin
then I right-clicked on the graphic and added a default hotspot
I put a 1 in the position image resource mapping but I don’t know if this is even necessary.
All’s I know is that it worked like a charm!
