Hi,
I have a full Lotus Domino server 8.0.1, and have it configured and run smoothly…
However when i try to launch the nlnotes.exe on the Domino Program directory “\Lotus\Domino\nlnotes.exe” it always prompted for this error:
IBM Lotus Notes does not have a production license. A temporary evaluation license has been enrolled for you to use for 60 days.
I’ve even tried reinstalling this on top of the current server but still the same problem… I’ve also tried installing this on a Test Environment server and still got the same error.
I’m worried that after 60days, my current production server will be locked out? Though i have a full and licensed Domino server and installer.
Please advice,
Thanks
Anthony
Subject: see this
seems it relates to absence of a “notes” registry key - seehttp://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd8forum.nsf/5f27803bba85d8e285256bf10054620d/f985eff3b0cecf8f852573cd0047b416?OpenDocument
Subject: Have you noticed the product “Notes” instead of “Domino”?
“IBM Lotus Notes does not have a production license” you are starting up a Notes client on top of a Domino server. You should not do that, and normally is not necessary since we have “Full Access Admin” nowadays. If really necessary, you should copy the licence file from an official Notes client and place that on the Domino server I think…
Subject: nlnotes
Running nlnotes on the server is an unsupported operation, and has been since 6.0. Please use a client to connect to the server. You server will still run fine after 60 days.
Subject: R8.0.1 nlnotes
Many thanks guys for your help…
i think i just accustomed to using nlnotes since this is the tools i used since R4/R5…
I gues Full Access Admin will do the trick…
I hope that after 60days my server will still work perfectly.
Cheers!
Subject: Wrong nlnotes
The nlnotes installed at that location is to only be used in the server setup dialogs not as an actual notes client. If you need notes on the server you need to install it into a different directory.
