I want to be on the lastest version. Can I upgrade from Lotus Notes 5.0 to Lotus Notes 7.0 on OS/400 V5R2.
I see where Lotus Notes 7.0 is not supported on OS/400 V5R2. Does that mean that I cannot upgrade from Lotus Notes 5.0 to Lotus Notes 7.0 on an 820 iseries OS/400 V5R2?
A few days after we install the updates to lotus notes we are going from V5R2 to V5R3. A few days after that we are going from a 820 Iseries to a 520 I5.
Just to clarify.
I want to go from Lotus Notes 5.0 to Lotus Notes 7.0 on a 820 Iseries with OS/400 V5R2.
Next I am going to go from OS/400 V5R2 to OS/400 V5R3 on a 820 iseries
Then I want to go from the 820 Iseries to the 520 I5.
I do not want to have to go from Lotus Notes 5.0 to Lotus Notes 6.5 on the 820 Iseries. I want to have the latest version of Lotus Notes installed.
If you are planning to upgrade from Domino Release 5 to Domino Release 7, you must first upgrade your system from OS/400 V5R2 to i5/OS V5R3, and then install Domino 7. Domino R5 is not supported to run on i5/OS V5R3, but for the purpose of upgrading from Domino R5 to Domino 7, Domino R5 can reside on V5R3 after an OS upgrade and prior to the Domino 7 install. Once you install Domino 7, any existing Domino R5 servers will be automatically upgraded. Only upgrades from Domino 5.0.13 are supported.

This might be stating the bleeding obvious but can’t you just go straight to R7 on the i5?
Alternatively you have a few problems as you shouldn’t use Domino V7 on V5R2 - it requires V5R3. Unless I’m misreading your post you should wait until you’re running V5R3 before upgrading to Domino V7. Things will be a lot more straighforward if you do it that way. Once that’s out the way then you’ve only got to move to the i5 but that should be the easy bit.
