Lotus Domino and Lotus Traveler Time Zone

Hi,

I am in Manaus - Brazil with time zone GMT -4 Manaus.

In my Lotus Domino 8.5 Server, when I open with Notes Client Administration and goes to preferences it says the time zone: GMT -7:00 Chihuahua: La Paz, Mazatlan.

The Windows 2003 Server in which is intall the Lotus Domino 8.5 Server the time zone is: GMT -4: Caracas La Paz

In all users Notes Client the time zone is: is not set. It set according with user Windows XP which is GMT -4:Manaus.

We are using with Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5 in Samsung i617 Smartphones.

The smartphone time zone is: GMT -4: Manaus.

All times of email and calendar meetings in the Lotus Notes Traveler is +30 minutes than Lotus Domino/Client.

How Can I solve?

We have seen similar behavior in Brazil before. We believe ther is a defect in the JVM for some of the Brazil timezones. We are still investigating, but try this to overcome:

Add this paramter to the notes.ini file on the Traveler Server:

NTS_Java_Parms=-Duser.timezone=America/La_Paz

Then restart Domino - that should force the users to use the LaPaz GMT -4 instead of the Manaus GMT -4 when the dates are calculated on the server.
