Lotus and Exchange Servers On The Same Network

My company runs our email through Exchange 2007, but recently we added a server with Domino 8.5 to run a database for our repairs department. For purposes of this post, our Exchange domain is acme.com. We registered another domain name for our repair department, acme-repairs.com, that we would like to be associated with Lotus Notes to send out emails to our customers letting them know where they are in the repair process.

Our sister company (who only runs Lotus) helped us set up the Lotus server, and it is up and running on our network. Right now from Lotus Notes, we can send out emails to outside domains, but we cannot send emails to our acme.com domain, and we cannot receive emails in Lotus Notes to the acme-repairs.com from anybody.

I know Exchange, but I have no background with Lotus. We would like to send and receive emails from our acme-repairs.com Lotus server, so our repairs admin doesn’t have to keep switching and copying emails between Outlook and Lotus to send/receive emails to and from our customers.

Based on what i mentioned is happening, does anyone know where the breakdown might be happening (the firewall config, an Exchange static route, Lotus config?)

Again the Lotus server can send out to anyone except our acme.com domain, but cannot receive emails from anyone.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Subject: lotus domino setting not yet correct?

if you can not send email from acme-repairs.com to acme-repairs.com that it seems that the setting of your domino server is not correct.I think you better check with your sister company to recheck your domino configuration.

Best Regards
