So I upgraded to Lotus Notes 8.5.1 FP2 (from 7.0.4) and now I’m unable to access my location documents - instead i’m presented with a new contact entry form.
Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it?
cheers, Richard

Subject: need more information
What steps are you taking which result in the New Contact form to appear? Are you trying to edit location?
Switch location?
Have you opened names.nsf and looked at the list of Locations? Do you see any locations there?
Subject: OK via names.nsf
Thank you for your response Debbie.
I am able to switch locations OK. However I am unable to access the Locations either via the Edit Locations option or File → Preferences → Locations. Both methods reveals the New Contact form instead
I am able to see the list and edit then via names.nsf? I suppose I could try and remove them all and recreate them there but I not sure I want to do that for 1000+ users when I roll this out!
Subject: try this…
please open names.nsf and select File / Application / Refresh Design. Keep the default “Local” selection. Once that has completed, try File / Preferences again.
Let me know if this works for you.
note: Names.nsf (and bookmark.nsf) are supposed to have their designs automatically updated when you install a new release. If this works for you, we need to do more investigation here as to why yours was not done automatically.
Subject: Sorted
I tired what you said but was it returned with “Cannot Refresh design of the database - Design template is not specified.” and “Design refresh failed”.
So on looking futher, I discover that there is indeed no template name specified in the Design properties.
I replaced the design with the new pernames.ntf and then all was well.
Many thanks for your help :O)
