Local Database folder Error on Mac OS X

Dear All,

We have discovered a strange error when we want to change the path of the

“Local Database Folder” in the User Preferences on LN client.

In seems you cannot use a network mounted drive ( we cannot browse ) then we have to write a standard syntax like : /Volumes/notesdata/names.nsf

The error was in 7.0.2 : OS Error

In 7.0.3 you cannot change the path as in version 7.0.2, but you don’t have this error message…

When you try to change the Local Address book path for names.nsf in “User Preferences” → Mail > General

Like : /Volumes/notesdata/names.nsf

You get this error : File name must be relative to data directory

Conclusion : It seems we cannot use network drives to copy home folder files for the user clients.

We use this feature to backup in our Network all user settings such as names.nsf and personnal settings, instead of leaving those settings in local computer.

We use the same process on windows clients and it works perfectly.

Have you already seen this kind of problem ?

Please help us.

Subject: Local Database folder Error on Mac OS X

I can’t say I’ve ever tried doing this on a network drive, but in general the Mac filesystem uses colons, not slashes. So the location of my data folder, which is local, would be shown as strome:applications:Lotus Notes:data, not driveLetter:\folder\subfolder\so on like it would be on Windows.
