I can’t seem to change the Local Application Folder on the Notes client. When I change it to what I want it to be & restart Notes it goes right back to what it was after install. Also, I can’t even find the fold it says it’s storing applications in. It lists: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data. I can’t even find that using Windows Explorer and I have the “show hidden folders/files” option turned on. Please help.
We have seen reports of this when upgrading from Beta 1 builds. It appears to be caused when some part of Notes is running as the LocalSystem account at client startup time. Make sure all Notes related processes are stopped “nsd -kill in a command prompt”, delete the HKCU\Software\Lotus\Notes install key and try starting Notes again.
It sounds like your trying to use a Notes client that is installed for multiple users (where it forces the notes data directory to be in your user home directory (docs & settings). If you install the client as “single user” then you should be able to move the data directory to a different spot. (there is no easy way to switch the install from multi to single user mode).
