Load extension manager addin dynamically

Does anyone know of a way to load and extension manager dll dynamically rather than through the notes.ini?

Sure, but be very careful. I have done this through a menu addin, an LSX and through a db driver. You just need to do the EMRegister call in your code and make sure to do the EMDeregister when you are done. When I did it through the LSX, I had a stop and start and could stop and start the extension manager at will. The nice thing about almost all of these add-ins is that they stay permanent in memory, and you can deregister as they close if you need to. I am not sure whether the EMCreateRecursionID works properly in these scenarios, but since a db driver (good for invoking from formula language) and an LSX and a menu add-in can all only be loaded into memory once, this isn’t much of a problem.

Do remember that when working this way, the extension manager is only in place for the given process, whereas when you start through the Notes.INI it is in all processes unless you detect the process and decide NOT to include it.

Wow, that is just what I was looking for.

Do you know of any books available that focus on Notes development using the C API?

Is there any chance you could post some example code. I’m having a hard time with this.

Thanks
