Link to Domino Directory via Desktop setting point to Personal Address Book

HiI try to distribute links to databases via “Applications” tab on desktop policies.

I cannot create links to databases with the Eclipse Client. Running the Basic client works. With the basic client I can drag and drop database links from my bookmark into “Bookmarks to merge…” field.

When creating a link to the Domino Directory all seems fine. I create a folder, and put the link to Domino Directory in there. I then drag the folder to the field on “Applications” tab.

When users read the policy, the folder appears on their bookmark bar - correctly stating “Company” Directory.

Opening the folder I can see the link to “company” Directory.

When users click on the link, the personal address book is opened. I have tried removing the link and recreating several times and tried different users.

It is not a replica issue - i have checked this. Also users are roaming, so I would have lots of other problems if users personal address books were same replica as Domino Directory.

I can manually create the link to Domino Directory from every client without problems.

I suspect the link to simply point to “names.nsf”, and the client finds the local database first.

Please someone try and recreate - is it a general bug?

Would really like to use this feature to push out a bookmark to the Domino Directory. Same thing happens in our environment. Notes 8.5.2 Standard Clients.
