Limit the download of attachment on Nokia devices for Lotus Notes Traveler

Dear All,

Does anyone has the idea on how to control the attachment on Nokia devices for Lotus Notes Traveler so that it could only be view on the phone rather than for it to be able to downloaded to the device locally.

Apple devices such as iphone and ipad only allow the attachments to be viewed on the phone itself, but user is not able to transfer the attachment to their pc or workstation locally to edit the attachment.

Due to security concern, I would like to control the attachment for Nokia device users, so that the user is able to view on the device only, but not allowing them to download and save the attachment to the device locally. Because once the attachment is downloaded to the Nokia device locally, the user can use the Nokia PC suite to save and edit the attachment on their pc or workstation.

Is there a way to control this?? so that it is the same as iPhone where user is only allow to view but not to save the attachment and edit it.

Apple is really the odd ball here because it doesn’t expose a file system to the user. For the PC, Windows Mobile, and Nokia, it is a file so you can do just about anything you normally would on the device. This is how those OSs work. There is no known way to do what you are talking about.

The only option you do have is to not allow the attachment to be included in the mail sent to the device at all. But you cannot have the attachment on the device and control it beyond that as it is a file at that point.
