Began as a question but posted now as an FYI…
Domino 8.0.1 and Lotus Enterprise Integrator 8.0.1 - I attempted to create an LEI (DECS) Notes connection from ServerA/Org1 to ServerB/Org2 but during Test Connection in the new LEI connection doc, I received the error 12325 stating that it was unable to find the path to the server, although connection documents were in place (Using Server > Connections in the ServerA’s Public Address Book/Directory)
After cross-certifying /Org1 with /Org2 and /Org2 with /Org1, the remaining limitation is simply the access controls on the target database for the LEI server’s connection. The cross-certify process may require Safe ID’s to be exported and exchanged between the ServerA and ServerB administrators (if applicable). It also requires the /Org1 address book on the certifier to be replicated to ServerA or else the certificate must be manually copied/pasted to ServerA’s PAB (if ServerA is not the certifier in Org1).
Basically, the error generated by LEI’s Test Connection is misleading. Using an Admin client to trace the connection is not necessarily helpful since it bases the test on the Admin client’s connections which are different than the Server’s connections. Unless the user working with LEI has access to the log or console, nothing would lead them to believe there is a certificate issue.
For future reference.
