LDAP Performance

Dear all,

My Company have test with Anti-Spam gateway called “Tumbleweed” , it connect and query the LDAP of Notes Server, since Tumbleweed have around 90 policies inside (almost is the BCC function) , but the performance is very slow and it take about 60~70% CPU Usage (1~4% when not connect to Tumbleweed) to do the query.

My question is how can I fine tune the LDAP, I’ve set the below parameters :

Timeout 0 seconds

Maximum Number of entries returned 0

Minimum characters of wildcard search 2

Automatically Full-text Index Domino Directory Yes

Did somebody have experiences with “Tumbleweed” ?

Many Thanks,

Michael

Make sure your reverse DNS on the OS level is working. If it doesn’t ldap responses are really really really slow (took me a month to find this out after a customer changed it’s windows domain without reverse dns)

I can possibly help you maximize your Domino LDAP performance. Allow Tumbleweed to run against a Domino LDAP server for a while (a day or two maybe) and then type “SHOW STAT LDAP” on your Domino server console. Please paste the result of that command here and I’ll see if I can help you optimize things.
