Larger disk cluster size helpful to domino performance?

We run domino 6.5.1 on windows 2000 professional and constantly find our data drives terribly fragmented. So we have to defrag frequently.

The defragmenter in 2000 is limited to working with 4k clusters. So if you want to use larger clusters, I believe the only option is windows 2003 server. If using larger clusters might improve performance by reducing fragmentation and reducing need to defragment, we might decide to upgrade.

Does anyone have any experience with larger disk clusters? Would there be any benefit?

TIA.

Subject: defrag question

Andy, could you provide me with some more information on your defrag process? Do you shut down domino while you defrag? Also, can you give me a rough estimate on how much data your are defrag and how long it takes?

Thanks
