Managing emails quickly with 12.0.2 has become impossible.
Our users are power users, as am I. I use the keyboard. So I open an email with enter. I am used to then hitting the Del key to erase it if necessary - which is often. or Hit Esc to close it and then use the cursor keys to go up or down.
Well Del key when an email is open does not work anymore, or at least 90% of the time - seems that is there are images, it does not work.
And once the email is closed via Esc key, no keyboard input works. I have to click by mouse into the view for keyboard interaction to resume.
If I close the email via the mouse and the x in the tab, the keyboard intearction is ok
So not only is Notes email already having to fight what looks like losing battel agains gmail, outlook, etc, but now we have to explian our customers that they need keyboard and mouse and need more time to go through their emails.... how do you defend that ?
I have the same issues with both my computers. Both running:
HCL Notes 12 (64-bit) Release 12.0.2 English Revision 20221103.0952-MAIN (Release 12.0.2) Standard Configuration. Template version: 12.0.2
on a Domino 12.0.2 server.
Besides the issue in the view I have a more specific issue reading the email:
If I read an email containing only text I need to click in the mail header, usually on my name, to be able to use Del key to delete it. If the email contains pictures it sometimes work if I click in the body of the mail. The important part seems to be that the cursor needs to be placed somewhere in the email. Clicking on my (recipient) name allows the cursor to be placed immediately efter the name.
Pressing Enter or Backspace to move to the next/previous email works regardless of pictures or not.
This was an issue for me even before moving to R12.0.2 but I don't remember when it occured.
