We are running Domino 6.0.3 and using Notes 6.0.1…
I have a database in which the “-Default-” access is set to Author and “Replicate or Copy Documents” is UNCHECKED.
I continually had problems with the main form I was using having the $KeepPrivate field set to “1” - which in my understanding is what is supposed to happen since “Replicate or Copy Documents” is unchecked - and gave all the users only read access, no matter if they had author access to the documnet. I ran an agent removing that field and everything was fine, however, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of taking away “Replicate or Copy documents?”
I read on the ND6 Forum that the fix was to set the “-Default-” access to Editor. I did this and most of the $KeepPrivate issues went away, however, they are still popping up here and there.
I have to continually monitor this database to fix these problems - setting the field to “0.”
On the design side, the main form is set for reading to “All readers and above” and for creation, it is set to “All authors and above.”
I want to keep the ability to have the users UNABLE to Replicate or Copy documents (except for those designated), but I would like to figure out why the $KeepPrivate field is being set and why it sets the access to reader.
Any help would be great!
Thanks!
Dan
