"jvm not found" during server install

Hello,

Here is a strange problem, trying to upgrade from a 7.0.1 FP1 server to 7.0.3 I receive the following errors :

JVM not foud

Warning

The device is not ready.(21)

Of course java is correctly installed and I run the install file from the local drive. The path contains no special letters.

The server is a sametime server

Thanks for any suggestion.

Yannick

Subject: “jvm not found” during server install

Hello Yannick,

You might find relief if you disable any AV software or perform the install in safe mode.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer. I tryed with antivirus unloaded but there is still the same error. Safe mode won’t be easy as I have to connect by vnc…

Subject: Solution for me

I’ve removed all files (no subfolders) from domino directory, as well as uninstall directory. Then copied back notes.ini.It worked fine for me.

Regards.

Subject: Domino Upgrade To 8.5.3+FP1

I had the similar problem when upgrading from V7.0.3FP1 to V8.5.3+FP1 on Windows 2003 Server. The installer failed at 1%, with error “JVM not found” & a warning “could not find specified path”.

My resolutions was to move all the subdirectrories (apart from ‘Data’) from the ‘Lotus\Domino’ folder to a safe location, then ran the installer again.

This time the installer succeeded and upgraded to V8.5.3. I then installed FP1 okay.
