The technotes are not very clear as to who needs to run the update tool. The recommendation is to upgrade to 7.0.2 FP1 which includes DST changes but for those who are not ready for this…
Is the update just for SameTime servers? I was on the phone with IBM support yesterday and was told that any Domino server (prior to ND7) running HTTP should have the JTZU tool apply the patch. Anyone else have any input on this?
Same thing, you should run it on all your servers.
Running the JTZU tool (or upgrading to 7.0.2 FP1) is required to update the internal Java time zone tables, which are independent of the OS tables. It is a best practice to run this on all Domino servers, since third party tools or Notes applications may need these tables. Applications created with Lotus-supplied templates such as the Mail template, Discussion template, and Teamroom do not depend on Java for DST information. An update to the Java time zone tables is required for Sametime® servers. This should be done with the IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java (JZTU) tool. The tool and instructions can be found in technote #1249964.
