@IsTime(@ToTime(fieldname))

Hi!

I have a form with two fields named “From” and “Tom”. The fields are Date/Time but since I import data from excel to the database there are some documents using this form that contain “non-date-data”.

I made a view to round up all these documents and used the selection formula:

SELECT !(@IsTime(@ToTime(From)) & @IsTime(@ToTime(Tom)))

To my surprise this formula did NOT catch documents containing, for example, “2006-0822” with a missing “-“ between month and day. This suggested that “2006-0822” was a legitimate date/time in lotus.

However, when I open the documents in question and try to resave them I get a “Unable to interpret time or date”. Also, with a computed field in the documents with the same formula, @IsTime(@ToTime(fieldname)), it returns “0”.

I then made a column in the view with @IsTime(@ToTime(fieldname)) and it returned “1” for “2006-0822”, just like the selection formula had.

So, in the view selection and in the column the formula “@IsTime(@ToTime(fieldname))” returns “1” for “2006-0822”. And in the computed field in the form and the automatic fieldtype check it returns “0”.

The data I import from excel is all text, but it is imported into date/time fields, can this be the problem? Is there any difference between view data and document data that might cause this?

Can anyone explain this to me? I’m thankful for any help!

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Frank
