Issue sending Draft emails

I have a situation with a client running a full Notes 8.5.1 environment, with Windows XP desktops and Linux servers.

There have now been two clear reports (including from the head of IT) of draft emails being sent that are not the same as on the screen at the time of sending. These have both been draft emails that have been saved and subsequently worked on before being sent. Also in both cases, the version sent did not conform to an earlier saved version of the email.

The fact that the emails sent seem to represent some sort of intermittent state suggests to me that the autosave process may be involved some how, and that the last autosaved version of the email is being sent rather than the current on screen version.

This is obviously a serious problem, and for the moment we are considering switching autosave off in case this is the cause. The only other thing we can come up with which might be linked to this is the fact that both desktops were accessing the email on their servers remotely via VPN connections, which could result in quite high latency.

If anyone else has had reports of anything like this, or has any suggestions, I would be grateful for any thoughts.

My thanks in advance

Paul
