Island(Disconnected) Problems?

One of our users is having a problem with Island location. In certain parts of the his house there is no internet access to pull his email from our server. In those places he switches to Island location, but the emails that were available in Office Location are not available in Island Location.

It seems that the messages appear after about an hour after he goes into Island location.

What if anything can I do to speed up the replication process so when he is in the areas of his house where he can get his email; he can then switch to Island location and the emails will still be there?

Thanks

Possibly he has set his Notes to use multi mail files for different locations. If so, I suggest disabling that option. I can’t see any advantage of this function.

Thoughts:1. If he is sitting there in the Island location and they aren’t there, and then they suddenly appear either it is replicating (and if he has enough connection to replicate, he might be able to work live), OR he has a view refresh issue, and they’ve been there all along.

  1. Advise user to manually replicate before moving to the Island location. (Best - IMHO)

  2. If the user were always on the local mail replica, it wouldn’t seem like items “disappear” from his mailfile.

  3. You could set his office location to automatically replicate more often than hourly. I wouldn’t go too often, though, as that can be a drain. I would point out, though, that if there’s truly no access from the Island location, the replication won’t take place from there. It won’t replicate until he returns to Office.

Thank you, I will try those options. I am somewhat new so I will have more questions in the future. Thanks again.
