I have a HelpDesk software that I’ve created. When the HelpDesk person chooses the user calling in with the problem, it automatically populates information such as their location, department, phone number, etc. I’d like to make the office number a linkable items that shows the company map for that particular floor and highlights their office.
ie: I’m in office 3065, so if I called in for a trouble ticket the system would make my office number (3065) link to the 3rd floor map with my office highlighted to take notice.
I have a copy of the floor map, but I don’t know if I can “draw” hotspots and make them re-act based on selection formulas (ie: @If(OfficeNumb = “3065”; Highlight my office, else nothing))
Is this even possible?

Possible, I suppose. Deeply painful, but possible, although you won’t be using hotspots. What you might attempt is this:
-
Create forms to serve as your maps, one per floor.
-
On each form, create a field which will contain the room number.
-
On each form, create a layout region and import the map for that floor.
-
In each layout region, create fields which display room numbers in appropriate places on top of the map.
-
Set up conditions in the fields to make the room number visible. You could use hide-whens or have fields compute to null if the master room number doesn’t represent the number of the individual field.
Once you’ve done that, you can create a document using the appropriate form inheriting the room number from a parent document. The hide-when conditions/field value formulas will ensure that only the right room number appears. Performance is likely to suck.

Good enough reason to not even try - Thank you.

How about the same idea using layers? You could maybe use a personal profile document or environment variable to store the room number then get the value into a field on the form to use in the hide/whens for the layers. I wonder if performance would be better than with layout regions, don’t know. It’s a thought!
