In the near future our company will consider a migration from Notes to Exchange. This is triggered primarily by the likely combination of two mail systems (ours is Notes, theirs is Exchange), but also because in the last two years we’ve had several new upper management folks unhappy with our mail clients after coming from companies with Exchange. A big part of that was their introduction via Notes 6/6.5. We’ve begun an upgrade to 8.5.1, which addresses several of their complaints, but it may be too little, too late.
When I research (via Google, etc.) I find TONS of tools and information about how and why to migrate from Notes to Exchange, and very little to support a decision to migrate from Exchange to Notes.
I’m wondering if there is an entity within IBM charged with helping keep current Notes shops from migrating. Ideally, I’d like to see the initiative taken by IBM (as opposed to us doing the leg work).
We are a fairly large company and growing in the global market, so I’d think IBM would want to take steps to keep us on board.
