Is there a way to reroute pending mail through a different server?

Hi all,

I have a server in China that is unreachable from my hub server in the Netherlands. Hundreds of messages are currently pending delivery. I can send messagess from my US server to the China server.

Is there a way to reroute those pending messages through the US server?

Thanks in advance.

Dan

Can you get to the server via Domino but just have a problem routing mail from that server? You might need to relay mail from China elsewhere for now (Config Doc). The easiest way to get that data from China to the US for mail processing is to cut / paste the mail from the mail.box in China to the US box.

Scott,

We are currently experiencing an Internet routing problem between our Netherlands office and our China office.

Here is the situation:

Hub server in Netherlands (NL).

Server in USA.

Server in China.

NL server receives all messages.

NL can send messages to USA.

NL can NOT send messages to China (hundreds pending).

US can send messages to China.

I would like to know if I can take the pending messages on the NL server and forward them to the USA server to be delivered to the China server.

Thanks,

Dan

As Scott said, cut them from the NL server, paste them to the US server and away they go. The drawback might be that your name will show up as having sent the messages (I don’t know this for sure - haven’t done it in a very long time). Test it out and see what happens.

OE: You could also try re-working your connection docs while the I’net connection is out. Remove the NL to China connection doc from your NAB and stop and restart the router. This might do the trick.

NL server receives all messages.NL can send messages to USA.

NL can NOT send messages to China (hundreds pending).

US can send messages to China.

So, can’t you change the routing cost from your NL server to the US & China servers? Making the routing cost from NL to US and then from US to China less than the routing cost from NL to China? (See the Admin Help file - search on “Routing cost” - also multiple posts in this forum.)

The server will try to route mail in the lowest “cost” method.

So, NL to China - cost = 5, NL to US - cost =1 (the default), US to China - cost = 1. Routing cost from NL to US to China = 2…
