Is there a setting that allows/disallows a Domino Server to access system properties when running a scheduled java agent? Thanks.
Subject: Is there a setting…
Could you be more specific please? Do you mean you don’t want the agent to access the server’s system properties, or you don’t want an agent to access a client’s system, properties?
I believe the latter is possible via ECL permissions that you can push via policies… but I’d need more to answer about server side…

I am behind a firewall and I am trying to pull text from a URL.I created a notes database. Within this database I created a scheduled java agent. The domino server (has manager access in the ACL) is to run the scheduled agent. The agent contains the following bit of code to get out to the Internet:
System.getProperties().put(“proxySet”, “true”);
System.getProperties().put(“proxyPort”, “8080”);
System.getProperties().put(“proxyHost”, “fwdproxy.myname.info”);
When the server runs the agent, I get the following error in the log:
AMgr: Agent (‘myagentname’ in ‘myfolder\myagent.nsf’) printing:
Exception:java.lang.SecurityException: not allowed to access system properties
When I manually run the agent from Designer (Agent → Run), the agent runs fine.
Subject: Possible answer…
Have you looked at the “Programmability Restrictions” section in the Security tab of the server document? There’s some things in there regarding “Run restricted Java/Javascript/COM:”. Give that a try, that may be what you’re missing.

Nothing so far. I’ll try to play with other Security settings to see if I can get lucky.
