Is there a formula language command to evaluate a text string and execute it like a formula?

Hi all–hope the new year is treating you all well.

I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a command in formula language to take a text string from a text field and execute it as formula language in another field. Basically, I have an @If formula written in a text field on a profile document. I want to use @GetProfileField to grab the text value in that field and use it to show a value in a computed for display field. (basically, i’m converting keyword aliases into their displayable equivalents.) It’s a very lengthy formula and I don’t feel like editing it more than once, should something need to be changed.

I seem to remember that Scott Good used this technique when presenting his “25 things you should always do when developing” but I can’t remember how he got the text string to evaluate as formula language–a point in the right direction would be great, since i have scoured the documentation and can’t find the answer.

thanks.

Would @Eval do it for you?

Tom,

Indeed it would, but I didn’t remember it existed until you said it!
