I am hearing that the need for lotus professionals is coming down as the Lotus technology is being phased out with Java and .net technologies.

Is Notes in decline? No, there’s always work for good people. That said, there seem to be loads of very poorly paid positions in Notes and Domino development around my neck of the woods (London, UK).
Of course relying solely on Notes and Domino for one’s career would be a very limiting move.
