I’d like to be able to remove words from the standard notes dictionary. I’ve tried opening it in notepad to edit, but all I see is garbledeegook. I also tried bintext, but got the same thing. Has anyone ever had success in removing a word from us.dic?
I’m also curious as to whether or not us.dic is based on an open format. Is it proprietary? Are there tools for editing *.dic files?

Hi,
Are you trying to do this progmatically? Otherwise you can modify your dictionary entries by first going to “File”,“Preferences…”, “User Preferences”. Expand “International”, select “Spell Check” and then use “Edit User Dictionary…”.

Thanks for the response. “Edit User Dictionary” allows me to edit User.dic. I need to edit us.dic.
I may be approaching this the wrong way. I want to remove the word “fro” from the dictionary. I sometimes misspell “from” as “fro” and I want Lotus Notes to catch it. Currently, Lotus Notes considers “fro” a legitimate word.
