Is it possible to have domino partition without selecting Domino Partition server Setup during installation?

We installed a Domino Partition Server without Checking the Domino Partition server setup during first time install.

Steps we followed

  1. Install & Configure Domino as a Standalone Server: In this case the Notes.ini is in C:\Lotus\Domino folder.

  2. Bring up the domino server it works correctly.

  3. Copy the data folder in C:\Lotus\Domino Folder and name it as Data2

  4. Copy the Notes.ini from C:\lotus\Domino Folder and copy one in C:\Lotus\Domino\Data and the other in C:\Lotus\Domino\Data2 folder

  5. Open Notes.ini in Data2 folder and remove some of the notes.ini entry.

  6. Launch Server Setup for second partition and configure the other setup.

  7. Open the other server from Domino Administrator and create a database, replicate a database. The other server works as it is a configured Domino partition.

Is the above method, correct way of setting up Domino Partition?

It seems working fine for time being, but there are some other configuration settings like nsd.ini will also need to configured manually, there might be some other settings which will be working correctly only when using the proper installation, i suggest to go for the proper partitioned server installation.

What other configuration settings should i make?

What is this nsd.ini file? How it is related with the new server i am adding in the partition?

I can go for the new partition setup, but in that case i have to uninstall my existing domino server
