Is it possible to have ; and , symbols in multivalue fields in web application?

I have such problem:There is a simple CheckBox field, lets call it FieldOne. It is multivalue field. Possible values of this field are:

“Yes John, you can do it”:

“No John, you can not do it”:

“Well John, I do not know”.

It is working fine with LN client, but on the web when user submits form, server understands that symbol “,” (or “;”) is a multivalue separator. And if the value “Yes John, you can do it” was selected before form submit, field FieldOne will contain values “Yes John”:“you can do it”.

I can not use escaped text and unescape it in QS agent, also I can not force my client just to use one of these simbols as a separator. Is there any diferent way to do it?

Thanks for advice.

It should be doable. What are the properties of the field? What are you allowing for separators? You cannot allow content which is the same as the separators unless you escape it. Otherwise, it will result in multiple values.

Why can you not escape it? A keyword (checkbox) can have a value and alias, like:

No John, you can not do it

Well, it would not be a problem in a simple web application. There are n ways to do it and you just mentioned one of them. But the thing is, that the part of the form is user generated fields (this user uses other application to create fields that he needs and then imports them into this application) and this user is not a developer, it’s a simple Lotus Notes user, who knows just a type of field that he wants and values he wants to see on a form. Thats why I use NewLine as a separator and it is working fine for LN client. But in web there are only two multivalue separators , and ;.

But thanks for advice anyway.
