My money is on a).
If you create a policy to server-archive all mails older than 6 months(!), you will get a link in your mailfile, under Tools-Archive, and it says “Older than 6 month”?
Any help appreciated.

In this and similar situations, just do a Google search for “Older than 6 months” and then for “Older than 6 month” (including quotes) and use the phrase which returned more results. It works for 98% of phrases, and not only for English.

You’re right, it would be a. You would say, Older than 1 month. But since you’re talking about more than 1, it iw Older than 2 months, 3 months, etc.
