We need to forward all our external mail to an outside service that requires us to authenticate first. I know Domino can forward all internet mail to a smart host/relay host but is it capable of doing a user/password authentication first?

I don’t think the server is capable of doing that in version 6.5 or earlier. 7 may have that feature. The question is why do you need Esmtp? Can’t you use your ISP as a smart host?

No, even Domino 7 can’t do that.My ISP also requires authentication, so I set up a local postfix as relay, because postfix can do authentication.
