Subject: now it working
I do not know why. but my email is now working after I tried to down grade to OS3. My phone did not downgrade, but restore by old backup app.
So maybe the upgrade trashed something in the password or ssl. Then restored by backup
fix it?
So my iphone 3g is working with iOS4 but with a restore from my OS3. Yet me phone says it is on OS4.
Subject: Maybe the upgrade process?
I am thinking it might be related to the way the upgrade process works, and not with the ActiveSync or Traveler software. What are your thoughts?
Subject: Works for me as well …
Like others, have SSL off (but that’s because the server doesn’t have an SSL cert anyway).
iOS4 on iPhone 3GS working fine.
Subject: Works for me too
I have iOS on my iPhone since 2 Weeks and had no problems so far using Traveler 8.5.1.2
Maybe you have to enter you passwords again after upgrading?!
Cheers
Subject: iPhone OS4 with Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.1.2
Hi
iPhone OS4 with Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.1.2 is working fine, without any issue, just you need to reenter internet password after upgrade, I think those who are complaining please check your Lotus Notes Traveler version,
Thanks
Subject: Mainly works
I found that it worked after I retyped my password in on the iPhone. Also, I have been seeing where accepting meetings no longer works. Has anyone else seen that?
Subject: Fixed same issue
I have the same issue. Which I have now resolved.Previously had OS 3.1.3 with traveler profile installed on iphone via https://remote.domain.com.au/servlet/travler. This was working fine under os 3.1.3. Upgraded to ios4 last night and could no longer connect to the mail server, my profile was still installed with correct permissions. My colleagues with 3Gs iPhones received some warning messages (cannot Verify Server Identity would you like to continue anyway?) but the upgrade to ios4 worked and they can connect to our notes server and download email. I spent several hours with IT today trying to fix this issue. We tried deleting the profile from my iPhone and reinstalling via the web configuration URL on our notes server - a connection could be established and a new profile was generated on the server for download to my iPhone but crucially this would not download, it was instead displayed in safari on my iPhone as an object that was unclickable. Next attempt was to manually create a new Microsoft Exchange account via Add account in settings, this also failed with warning message above.
I have now fixed the problem by reinstalling from back up in iTunes, this added the original profile back in and I am now able to sync with notes, contacts and calendar on my 3G iPhone.
I don’t know why the traveler server would not let me download the new profile but I would suggest that this needs to be address by IBM. I also tried to install a profile on my iPad today but got the same error (OS 3.2) Were we doing something wrong here?
I hope this helps, it is cheaper than upgrading to iPhone 4
Nick
Subject: iPhone Success
I’m not sure if this will work in every situation, but it fixed our problem here. Seems that the error message that we were getting that it “Cannot connect to the server” was because the sync connection was timing out. In my case, my Inbox was too large to push to my iPhone. As a test, I created a folder in my mail file and moved all of the documents from my Inbox to it, except for about five. Then I opened my mail on my iPhone and they were there. So, I slowly added documents back into my Inbox and was able to re-add them all. But I did run into some problems because a few were too large and stopped the sync completely. When that happened, I either got a blank screen in my iphone email or I saw the error message “Cannot connect to the server”.
In any case, by reducing the number of documents in the Inbox I was able to start the process again.
Subject: Apple provided a fix.
The problem is related to an activity timeout that Apple set to 30 seconds in iOS 4. The value in iOS 3 was 240 seconds. They published an article with a fix here:
Subject: Apple’s Fix
This fix does extend the sync process on the iPhone.
However, I’ve noticed something else odd. If I set my “Mail Days to Sync” within Settings - Mail,Contacts,Calendars - Accounts (IBM Lotus Notes Traveler) to unlimited, it will only return up to 1 month of documents. I thought at first it was because of the size of my Inbox, but I only have 30 documents and 12 of them are not shown in my iPhone Mail as they are older than 30 days.
Has anyone else seen this?
