IOR is null or missing and DIIOP refuses connections. Servlet on Domino R6.0.5

Still trying to fins a solution to this problem.

I have a servlet that connects to Domino using the NotesFactory ogjects. Regardless of the method i use to connect DIIOP will from time to time stop responding.

Using a hard coded server IP, username and password [session = NotesFactory.createSession(“127.0.0.1:63148”, name, pass);] I just see a NULL pointer error. I then switched over to using the IOR file in the hopes that it would shed some more light on the problem.

What I’ve found is that IOR string from [String ior = NotesFactory.getIOR(“127.0.0.1”);] is NULL when this problem happens. This seems to occure during replication with another server. Could it be that the DIIOP_IOR.txt file is getting removed? In addition, the code throws a “NotesException: 4000 : Creating administration request to create mail file for %A…” which seems meaningless.

I’m about at my wits end, this has been going on for weeks now on code that I swear was working. Nothing in it is very complex and it should all just work. That this problem is intermittent means that I never know if what I’ve changed has solved anything untill it crashes again.

Code where the problem happens.

try { // NotesException 1

String ior = NotesFactory.getIOR(“127.0.0.1”);

System.out.println("testServlet : " + uName + " \ " + uPass + " : " + ior);

//Session session = NotesFactory.createSession(“127.0.0.1:63148”, uName, uPass);

Session session = NotesFactory.createSessionWithIOR(ior, uName, uPass); // Try connecting with the IOR

// Get the LTPA tokemn and build the query

lToken = session.getSessionToken();

session.recycle();

} catch (NotesException e) { // NotesException 1

System.out.println("testServlet : Error generating notesfactory session: ");

System.out.println(e.id + " | " + e.text);

e.printStackTrace();

}

Error in the Domino log.

Subject: IOR is null or missing and DIIOP refuses connections. Servlet on Domino R6.0.5

Hi Josiah

Could it be that your server doesn’t know that it is on 127.0.0.1? Possibly it cannot resolve that address on any ports.

What if you connect using the hostname? (and ensure that the server can resolve itself, either through the hosts file or dns)

Also, has the http port been changed?

Ben

HTTP is setup to talk to any IP and when DIIOP starts to fail I can still open the diiop_ior.txt file over HTTP. DIIOP itself has everything configured to talk to 127.0.0.1 and as I said, it works flawlessly most of the time.

Here is a dump of the DIIOP configuration.

tell diiop show config
