Internet mail stuck in mail.box in Windows Server 2003

We recently upgraded to windows 2003 server and running 6.5.1. Now we have problem with internet mail being stuck in the mail.box when you try to send. Does anyone else has this problem? Is this some kind of setting need to be turned on in Windows Server 2003 allow for it to work?We have tried to turn on SMTP service in Windows but it didn’t help. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

Does the mail ever go thru? Or does it sit there foerever? One thing to try is to stop and start the router and see if the mail goes thru. If that works, then internet mail may be set to send as low priority. Not sure offhand if it is possible to set internet mail as low priority. Another thing to look at, is in your server config, on the SMTP outbound controls and make sure you are not blocking mail from being sent to other domians.

We have the same server config and it was working fine until Windows Server 2003 upgrade.

We have tried reset the router too but no luck.

All outbound mails are just stuck there.

Thanks

I doubt there is anyting wrong in Notes. The Windows 2003 Server installs with a security model that is the antithesis of previous releases so you may want to check the documentation on TCP/IP port configuration in case 25 is closed. I can’t remember if it was when I ran up my first Domino 6.5.1 / W2k3 server. . . . . HTH

Alan,

I agree with you. Last night, just for experimenting on my 2003 development Server. I installed Domino 6.5.1 on it and that works fine. The only thing different with this installs is I didn’t installed SAV for Domino.

This is kind of give me a hint.

I will try uninstalling to see if that works first.

Thanks.

It turns out that we have multiple NICs and for some reason SMTP was not bound to the one we were using. By disabling unused ones then everything start to work again.
