Hi,
I have the following problem.
When we type a message in iNotes Internet Explorer sometimes crashes when typing a hard return.
Most of the times we have it when we are reply-ing with history.
Anyone got the same problem ?
And how did you solve it ?

Hi, we have a similar problem where IE6 hangs. This seems to be a TCP connection problem because if you monitor the network using tcpview it is easy to spot when the hangs occurs as a number of connections do not get closed. When it is working normally they would. I have not found an answer to this yet and have tried registry settings etc but nothing improves it. Is this the same you are seeing?

True, I’m also seeing it more often when there is a lot of text in the applet window. Small one-liners are usually OK, but longer essays crash…

Hi,
I have the same problem, but no solution.
However, this error occured after I updated my Notes client to 6.0.1. My server is still 6.0. I imagine that the problem may be somewhere around that. I heard about several problems with iNotes and Domino server 6.0.1, so I’d like to wait a little bit before upgrading the server.

I have the same problem, although not with just usiung the “enter” key
I cannot paste into the rich text field (no ctrl-v or right click functionality) I can however paste over my signature. Doing so causes IE to crash.
I have also experienced the browser crashing after usung the return key a few times

We got the same problem … we have like 350 Peopel using Inotes and now we got 350 angry people on our back that what inotes removed…
One thing that helped a little is to uninstall MS patch Q329441 (remove from Add/remove program under controll panel in windows)
it still crashes but not as freq.

Heh. Welcome to the club… Although I only have around 50 angry users at that customers site…
I did not have that patch 329441 on one of the machines experiencing this problem, but installing it seems to have lessened the problem(!). Strange.
Other observations:
All my problematic users are using Windows XP
All my problematic users are using IE 6.0 with the latest servicepacks (Don’t recall if it is 2 or 3 though).
Upgrading iNotes from 5 to 6 didn’t help, so it’s probably yet another Microsoft problem.

Thank for the inofrmation…I thougth Inotes 6 would help… 
regarding the patch 329441 I now noticed it only helped alittle on some machines and even worsed the problems on others…
It would be interesting to hear something from IBM regarding this huge problem…
But i guess they keep low profile until microsoft spoken.
But its IBM thats looses customers during this IE6 and Inotes crashes syndrome. Probably made by design from M$
STILL NEED URGENT HELP TO GET INOTES TO RUN UNDER XP WITHOUT CRASHES!!!

We are running Lotus Domino Enterprise server - release 6.0.1 CF1 for Windows/32 and we got the same problem as Hakan !We also got a lot of angry Inotes users !
They now starting to look for other applications to run instead of Inotes !
So please give us some help here !!!

I have the same problem with IE 6/XP. I contacted Lotus Support and according to them, the problem is the Q810847 hotfix. They also mentioned that MS have acknowledged this to be a problem (bug) and that they are working on a new patch. I’m still waiting for a response from Lotus support and I will let you know when I have something new.

The Q816506 hotfix from MS fixes the problem with IE crash.

The hotfix was not public available yet. Had to contact MS to get it.
