Internet Address probem

I have a user who is having problems recieving emails from the internet. Our address book is set up such that the Internet address is

firstname.lastname@company.com

However when this user sends out email, the recipient receives mail from

firstnam_lastname@company.com

And because of this he is unable to get return mail form the internet.

I check his person document on the server and his location document on the client and the both have the correnct internet address.

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Thanks in advance.

Check the location for that person. The internet adress may have been changed. if you add firstname_lastmane to the user name in the person document the mail will be routed the that person. Not a fix, but a nice workaround.

Hope that helps

This has been driving me nuts for some months, and I finally found a solution. It has to do with the users MAIL file preferences, not the LOCATION document.

Firstly, go to File, Security, User Security and then click on the Basics tab. Check the “Name” field. In a stand-alone Notes client, like I have, it will probably have the user name twice, separated by a slash. In my case it is “Norman Holtzhausen/Norman Holtzhausen”. In a Domino environment it will of course have the domain name after the slash.

Next, close that dialog box, open your mail file and go to Actions, Tools, Preferences. The field “This mail file belongs to” must exactly match your name as above. By default is seems to have the name without the domain(e.g. “Norman Holtzhausen”)

I changed this to match the name from the Security tab and instantly my Notes client started using the Internet email address that I had configured in my location document, instead of the firstname_lastname format.

Hope this solves your problem too!

Thanks Norman. That did it. Our company changed ownership and his mail file was still registered to the old company! Thanks allot.
