Insufficient memory - local heap is full, with Notes 9 client

I’m running Notes 9 version:
IBM Notes 9 Social Edition Release 9.0 Revision 20121208.0805 (Build V90_CD6_12072012) Standard Configuration L-GHUS-8X8JDJ

Today I started getting many popups showing this text: “Insufficient memory - local heap is full”
Is this a known problem, is there already a fix for it?

Hi David,

This is a known issue and this issue has been observed in the cases where a few thousand documents appear in a View of a any particular DB specially Calendars .

Will you please let me know that what kind of View(Mail,Calendars or any other custom DB) are you trying to open which lead to this issue?

Possible Workaround:

  • Trying clearing cache.
  • Delete Cache.ndk (not .ntf) and increase default cache size upto 100MB from Workspace->Property tab.Restart the Notes.
  • Re-design your DB or View of DB such that a high a number of documents do not appear in the view
