Installing Server, Administrator, Client , Designer....Tips needed

HelloI want to install a development environment in my laptop.

I have Windows XP Home Edition and two hard drives. One external; let’s call it the D drive and my the laptop’s hard drive; C drive.

I was wondering what would be the best installation for my development environment .

Sould i install the Server in the D drive as follows?

D:\Lotus\Domino

D:\Lotus\Domino\data

and the Administrator/Client/Designer as follow?

C:\Program Files\lotus\notes

C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\data

What would be your suggestions?

Anything else I should know before proceding?

Thanks

I take it since you want to install it on a laptop one of the objectives is to be mobile?!?

If that is the case I think it would safe to assume that you do not always have the external HDD connected and operational?

If so (and disk space is not an issue) I don’t see a problem in having both Domino and Notes (along with their Data directories) installed on the same C partition. If space however is an issue then I also would farm out the Data directories to the external drive.

I would personally install the program directories (for both client and server) on one volume and the data directories (for both client and server) on the other.

EDIT:

Just re-read the post and saw the “external drive” part for the first time. My advice above was aimed at a two-internal-drive configuration; just ignore it.
