I see that the setup.exe is located on the server under the Data directory, in domino/html/DAO - Is this where the END USER would launch it from, or is this the SERVER piece that needs to be launched? I have the Redbook explaining the process, and the install says to launch an executable named: C563HIE.EXE
Subject: Installing DAMO - where does one obtain the “C563HIE.EXE” file??
It is in on the Domino server. I’m not sure if you can launch it from the URL as it depends on the browser settings. Many will just prompt the user to download it.
We just took the file, renamed it (ie: DAMOSetup653.exe), and placed it on the network where it is accessible for everyone.
In one case, we added it to the login script for implementation which worked well. In most cases, however, it is only used by a select group of users.
If you haven’t noticed yet, the file is 30MB! Also, DAMO is good with 6.5.3 but the performance promises to be much much better in 6.5.4.
I had noticed the file on the server… it was named setup.exe - however I also found the instructions referred to using C563HIE.EXE, so I wasn’t sure if these were different files or not. I finally found where to download C563HIE.EXE, but then found the 6.5.3 version which i think was c59… something I cant remember just now, and used that as I also found the instructions I was first looking at referred to using MS Outlook 2000, which we are not… there are NEW instructions for using Outlook 2002, so I followed those and that is where Im at…but with no Welcome letter… and no other visible mail in my mail file.?
