HCL Connections 7.0 has components installed of IC360, so is there a recommended order of tasks to install HCL Connections 7, IC360 Fullversion and CFix 70.2105?
As there are components of IC360 in the CFix, I think it needs to be installed as last package. Is there any way to install CFix 70.2105 again, when the order of installation was wrong?
There should be a way, because it can happen, that a customer buys a ICXT license after he installed Connections 7 and patched it to the very last version. Is it enough to uninstall CFix 70.2105?
I'm happy about any hint.
Regards
Christoph
Hi Christoph - Thanks for the feedback. We're discussing this internally and will hopefully have more feedback for you by early/mid week.
Thanks,

Hi Christoph,
We've discussed this further internally. There is some overlap between Connections 7.0 and ICXT, but the common code in the latest CFix and the latest version of ICXT should be the same.
Our recommendation is therefore to deploy the latest versions of both the CFix and ICXT to ensure that the common code retains all fixes.
In your sample scenario - running Connections 7 with the latest CFix and then purchasing ICXT - you would need to apply the latest version of ICXT to avoid replacing fixes in common code.
Thanks,

BTW uninstalling the complete CFix for a single application seems overkill. There should be an option to install or uninstall parts of a CFix.
Any news on this Michael?
Hi Christoph,
We revisited this in light of the Community Template issue, and the only additional input to what we outlined earlier in this thread is that you may need to adjust the class loader policy after installing ICXT as well.
We are still working out the specifics and will respond to the Community Template issue thread with more input once available.
Thanks,

Hi Christoph,
Let me first apologize for any inconvenience you have seen with the CFix process we rolled out. We are currently doing root cause analysis on the escape and reviewing the procedures we used in building, testing and releasing the CFix. Our main goal with the CFix process is to provide a cumulative monthly fix pack to help customers proactively harden their environments from issues other customers may have seen saving the extra time of reporting and resolving an issue that we could proactively prevent altogether. Obviously your feedback is important to us and we will be discussing it internally to determine how we might be able to adapt our tools and processes to better serve your needs and concerns. Our goal has and always will be to reduce the need for customers to spend time opening cases and working preventable issues. I would be more than happy to discuss all of your concerns. Having your input will help to make this process a benefit not a problem. Please let me know if you would like to discuss further and email me with some available times we could discuss. (Bryan.Dupree@hcl.com.) I also welcome others in this forum to provide me with thoughts or concerns as well.
Sincerely,
Bryan Dupree
