Install HCAA as single user

When you install the HCAA client it defaults to multi-user install and you can't seem to change this. Is there a way to install HCAA in single user install mode ?

Hi Kris,

Do you have notes client install at your end as well?
If yes, then is notes client is installed in multi-user mode?

If yes, then -->You should have Notes client single-user installed in order for you to also configure the HCAA to a single-user install. This is because by default, the HCAA will be installed as multi-user.

You can install Notes single-user then next, install HCAA and run it so it will prompt you to configure it the HCAA already.

If you have plan to use HCAA and later on you feel no need of Notes Client, then you might need to refer to check below URL for how to achieve this -->

https://help.hcltechsw.com/caa/3.0/topics/appacc_migrate_data.html

This is because even if you do not want to use Notes Client later on, you need to use its data directory.

Hello

there is no Notes client installed on the PC and when I install HCAA, he defaults to a multi-user install and I want to install it as a single-user install.

I agree with you. It is its default behavior and it doesnot even prompt for single user installation option screen.
You must be having valid reason for installing it as single user.

To my knowledge, currently the workaround seems like configuring/installing notes client as single user and then install HCAA as single user.
Later on uninstall Notes Client.

Hi,

Sorry to inform you that the default HCAA installation behavior is multi-user.

There is no option to select an install path and to select for multi-user or single-user install.

There is no way to install HCAA single user directly but you can use workaround as below:

1. You can install Notes single-user. The notes client configuration is not required.
2. Install HCAA.
3. Start HCAA, it will prompt you for configuration
4. Configure it and start HCAA. Verify its working.
5. Uninstall Notes Client.
6. Verify HCAA. It is working.

Please note HCAA uses the Notes data directory in the above scenario. Please do not delete it. You can verify it in HCAA Notes.ini.

I have tested in the test environment and confirming you.
