Install BlackBerry

Dear all,

My Company want to use BlackBerry. And the existing environment is : Incoming : SMTP Server > Domino Server

Outgoing : Domino Server > SMTP Server

In order to use BlackBerry, POP3 needed to be used.

But only the SMTP Server have Real IP. How can I use BlackBerry to get POP3 mail? Is the Domino Server need Real IP also ?

(We existing use SSL VPN to get mail )

Thanks,

Michael

“In order to use BlackBerry, POP3 needed to be used.” From that statement, I think that you are NOT using a Blackberry Enterprise Server? So, why not?

If you want to go the POP route, follow the procedures outlined in the Blackberry device documentation. And you will have to enable the POP task on your server, make it available through your firewall, and change your Notes Mail file to be “POP compatible.”

We recently installed Blackberry Enterprise Server (and on our production system too).

The process was quite easy and I’m really happy with how well it has been working.

I’d recommend against using POP - Go BES, you should be able to get it cheaply if you’re buying a few handhelds.
