iNotes problem when integrating Domino Server with IIS on Win'2K

Hi guys,

I have IIS 5 and Lotus Domino Server R6 integrated. That is, I run a web server on IIS using port 80/443. IIS is only accessible by authenticating with it first using their win’2000 account.

Domino is also a web server to allow users to login to iNotes and check their email, etc. Domino is on port 8080.

The problem is that, when users go to:

http(s)://server/login.nsf

they login and are redirected to their iNotes mail (providing it was selected on the login screen).

But, when they try to write a new memo, they’re prompted with a popup window asking for username/password/domain which is from IIS. If they click CANCEL it lets them send a message. If they authenticate with the IIS server here, it won’t let them send a message. When trying to pick someone from the address book to send the message to, it gives the error:

“This function is inappropriate for file system directories.”

Is there a way to prevent that popup window from asking users to authenticate?

I have Ports / Internet Options / Web configured as:

TCP/IP Port: 8080

TCP/IP Port Status: Enabled

Enforce Server Access Settings: no

Authentication options:

Name and Password: no

Anonymous: Yes

SSL Port Status: Disabled

The way it is now, and it’s fine (except for the above mentioned problem of course), is when users go to http(s)://server they’re directed to the IIS web server and they go to the pages they want, etc.

When they go to http(s)://server/login.nsf they get a page to login…where they enter their username, password and also wether they want webmail or iNotes. They select iNotes and can access their emails, calendar, etc. But, again, when trying to send a message they’re prompted to authenticate with the IIS web server.

Please help. This should all make sense, if you take the time to read it carefully.

Thanking in advance,

Andy.
