I'm going to add a Nomad Mobile interface to existing Notes app. In app properites we have defined a default Frameset to be opened. How can I setup different frameset for notes client and Nomad Mobile? My initial idea was to make 2 framesets with the same name but set hidden properties one for client and second one for mobile. But it doesnt work this way and Nomad version still opens Notes client frameset.
Afterwards, how about using @Platform Formula method to determine the OS first and then on basis of returning value of OS, call the necessary frameset using some If-Else conditions?
Yes, I'm working with @Platform already inside of the app. But in application properties dialogue, in place where you specify frameset, there is no option for "formula". You can only select frameset by name. If I'm not missing something ...
Your observation is correct. You can specify only one Frameset.
However, why you require two frameset? The Nomad Mobile can open application created in Notes client. There might be some UI related concerns from Nomad mobile as compared to Notes Client due to screen size etc.
In that case, you might need to refer below enhancement request.
You can vote for this request in case this matches your requirement.
Still if you want different Frameset for mobile and client then you might need to play with the content present in Frameset.
Ex --> Let say you have placed Outline inside a Frameset. So, you can have two set of Outlines inside this Frameset. One meant for Notes Client and other for Nomad Mobile. You can hide it accordingly. Refer attached screenshot.
Ok, it just become a perfect hint for me. I created a frameset with just 1 frame with no borders etc. Then inside I put a frameset based on formula to detect notes client vs. mobile phone. The outer frame is actually invisible on the screen. Seems as a working solution for us ..
The launch property only takes the name of the frameset, and does not support a formula.
As a workaround, you can create a frameset, and designate that it is the frameset that is opened, lets call it "launchframeset". That frameset could then have a single frame, and thats frame's content can be a frameset, and the frameset name can be computed. basicframeset_mobile or basicframeset_desktop based on an @platform test.
