When handling some Notes databases we received to process through Lotus COM objects using Visual Basic, in some cases, there seem to be issues with the INetCopyTo field, which is reflected in the databases themselves.
(names are changed)
For example, in Bob’s NSF, he is a CC recipient, where Bill is the sender and Jill is the To recipient.
The relevant fields are (from the backend):
From: CN=Bill@/O=Company
INetFrom: bill@company.com
SendTo: CN=Jill@/O=Company
INetSendTo: jill@company.com
CopyTo: CN=Bob@/O=Company
INetCopyTo: 8 ■ ■ jill@company.combob@company.com
(between the boxes are actually new lines, not spaces)
And when looking in the Lotus Notes client at that email, the INetCopyTo merely displays “8” on my machine (on all others, it only displays a unicode Far East Asian character, so my machine does not display that correctly).
UPDATE: When viewing the properties of that document from a View and not from the email itself, the whole item value displays in the properties, not just until the odd character.
In other emails, some with more CC recipients, it becomes more extreme. In those cases, most CC’s seem fine, either appearing as just periods or normal email addresses, but in some cases a CC value shows many, many more boxes and appends many email addresses together, something like:

bill@company.combob@company.comdan@company.comjason@company.comwendy@company.compaul@company.comjohn@company.comjacob@company.comcaleb@com
That is all one value in the Values array of that Item (names changed). It did crop off at the end, that is how it read from the backend.
The Notes databases did come with unicode characters in the email messages (Far East Asian).
Any clue as to why that may be happening? It hasn’t occured with the INetSendTo or INetBlindCopyTo at all, just INetCopyTo. I can’t repair the NSFs or get new copies, but knowing why this may occur may lead to peace of mind (and an explanation to give to the higher ups).
