Why won’t LOTUS Symphony save spreadsheets in a format that can be imported by LOTUS Notes? Is this really too much to ask?

My version of symphony saves csv files, I thought these could be imported (may be wrong)?
Having said that, the ability to import odf and xls would be great…
Subject: Importing spreadhseets
Lotus can import Structured Text, .ics calendar files, 1-2-3 worksheets, and tabular text (poorly). As far as I know, .csv files cannot be imported.
